About Credibrate
Credibrate is a free calculator platform built for UK consumers. The site provides accurate, transparent financial calculators — mortgage repayments, stamp duty, tax, pensions, and more — with no sign-up, no fees, and no hidden agenda.
Who runs this
Credibrate is built and maintained by Richard Ross, based in London. Richard has spent over a decade working in UK financial services, with direct experience across consumer banking, investment products, and personal finance. The site exists because most online calculators are either buried inside comparison sites trying to sell you something, or are inaccurate, outdated, and cluttered with ads that make them unusable. There should be a better option.
Every calculator on this site uses published, verifiable data — HMRC tax bands, Bank of England base rates, DVLA VED bands, and legislated stamp duty thresholds. The formulas are standard financial mathematics. Where assumptions are made, they are stated clearly on the page. Calculator outputs are sense-checked against the official HMRC and equivalent calculators where one exists.
Richard reviews and updates content on a rolling basis as rates and thresholds change. If you find an error in a calculation or have a suggestion for a calculator that should exist, please get in touch via the contact page.
How we make money
Credibrate is free to use and always will be. The site is funded by display advertising and, on some pages, affiliate links to mortgage brokers and financial services. If you click an affiliate link and go on to use that service, we may receive a commission. This never affects the results shown by any calculator, the order in which information appears, or the editorial content on the site.
Full details of our affiliate relationships are on our methodology page.
What Credibrate is not
Credibrate is not a financial adviser. The calculators provide estimates for general information only. They do not constitute financial advice, and you should not rely on them as the sole basis for any financial decision. Always seek independent professional advice for your specific circumstances.
